Metal Recycler Secures Funding to Further its Patented Electromagnetic technology
AFS Corporate member SUN METALON INC., a pioneer in the metal recycling and refining industry, announced the successful closure of a $21 million Series A funding round, bringing total capital raised to $30.7 million.
Headquartered in Chicago, SUN METALON says it aims to revolutionize the metal industry by delivering innovative, energy-saving, and CO2-emission-reducing solutions for sustainable metal manufacturing and recycling for metal casting, die casting, and machining operations involved in automotive, construction machinery, heavy industry, and steel manufacturing.
The company says its patented electromagnetic technology reduces energy consumption and initial installation costs compared to conventional methods.
“The metal industry is at a critical juncture, facing dual challenges of decarbonization and the need for a circular supply chain,” said CEO Kazuhiko Nishioka. “Our proprietary heating technology addresses both issues by significantly reducing CO2 emissions and enabling efficient metal recycling, all while keeping costs low.”
“This funding will accelerate our efforts to drive the transition to a low-carbon, circular economy in the metal industry,” he added.
