Doncasters signs $1 billion+ contract for industrial gas turbine parts
Doncasters, a global manufacturer of high-precision components, has signed a multi-year contract with Siemens Energy. With an anticipated value exceeding $1 billion, the agreement covers the supply of complex precision investment castings for Siemens Energy’s gas turbine platforms.
Under the contract, Doncasters will leverage its vertically integrated alloy manufacturing and casting capabilities in the UK and Germany to deliver exceptional products to Siemens Energy.
The scope of work includes both legacy products and groundbreaking new projects, encompassing what the companies say are some of the most substantial and intricate precision castings ever produced worldwide.
“This renewal of Doncasters’ contract with Siemens Energy reflects the hard work of all our employees and I’m delighted that we have been able to cement our relationship with one of our oldest and largest customers,” said Doncasters Chief Executive Officer Mike Quinn. “This agreement forms the backbone to the significant capital investments in capacity and capability currently underway or planned to support the growth in our Airfoil casting plants.”
Christopher Steinwachs, vice president at Siemens Energy, added: “We are excited about this collaboration with Doncasters, as it supports our commitment to providing cutting-edge technology and superior solutions to our customers.
“This agreement aligns with our vision to lead the energy transition with sustainable, innovative, and reliable products. Doncasters’ customer-centric approach was a decisive factor in our decision to sign a long-term agreement.”
